When Mullen Heller was called to this project, the Intake Building for the AHANM facility was deteriorating and in desperate need of expansion. The program for the renovation included a public area for animal adoptions, separate boarding facilities for cats and dogs, and an expanded, modernized treatment area for examinations. Animal adoption is the goal of the Humane Association, so it was mandated that the public area be enlivened with color to create hospitable and inviting spaces.
