Smiles for Kids
Albuquerque, NM
From the outset of planning, the owners were committed to designing a memorable building for passersby as well as repeat clients. The building is on a highly-visible intersection of two commuter arterials in northwest Albuquerque. It was placed directly on the corner of the site to increase the visibility of the practice and set the tone for future buildings within the development.
The building’s exterior incorporates bold features that pop at those traveling along the busy streets. The stucco colors are of the high desert landscape, with stone veneer masses, metal sunshades, bright yellow accents and a cantilevered balcony facing the Sandia Mountains
The 10,000-square-foot building houses the dental services on the first floor and the company’s corporate offices on the second floor, with a lower-level parking garage. The interior is light-filled and roomy, with six hygiene bays that have wide open views of the Sandia Mountains, and 10 private operatories. In addition to smart zoning of interior private and public areas, careful consideration was given to patient flow to avoid backups at check-in and check-out.
The interiors are comforting to all ages, with pleasant distractions for the young and easy flow for the parents.
