Alondra Azurdia

Alondra was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She first encountered a career in architecture on accident when she attended the wrong orientation during her undergraduate studies (probably the best accident to ever happen to her). Afterwards, she investigated what it meant to be an architect and was drawn to its blend of logistical and creative thinking. She decided to stay and pursue becoming an architect when exposed to architecture’s important role in shaping healthy communities and learned to value its deep artistic quality.

Alondra is interested in how community-led architecture functions in both physical structures but also in design practice. She aspires to contribute to the architecture community by serving the public through creative, beautiful, empowering and enduring spaces.

Favorite Part of MHA Projects: My favorite part of MHA design is its intentionality and that it’s centered around real community needs in a way that feels deeply rooted in place. The design philosophy behind every project and its clear commitment to design for people is always evident.

Best Place in the World: My favorite place to chill is at both of my grandmas’ backyards and kitchens.

When Not Working: I love to read or be on the search for the closest art scene whether it’s a gallery or market on the street.
